From The Right 07-11-2022

In a 2021 interview, Robert F Kennedy Jr (nephew of the late President John F Kennedy) was speaking about a political rally he attended where there were millions in attendance and no one was wearing a mask. An NBC news crew asked Kennedy,”aren't you scared of getting the Coronavirus?” Kennedy replied, “ I am more fearful of losing my Constitutional Rights.” Kennedy continued, “The American Revolution took place because people were willing to die for the Constitution.” The Constitution was not written to spell out specific rights but rather the right of citizens to address government, the right to Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness, the right to defend and protect those rights, the powers granted to the States and to the Federal Government.

Nowhere in the Constitution are rights given for abortion, guaranteed income, redistribution of wealth, housing, jobs, education or debt cancellation. Nowhere is Global Warming or the Green New Deal discussed. What is discussed are the three branches of government, their duties and their limitations. The Constitution made provisions for the three branches of government, Legislative, Executive and Judicial, The Separation of Powers, The implied powers of each branch along with Checks and Balances.

James Madison, in the Federalist Papers wrote of the necessity of the separation of powers to the new democratic government. He wrote, “The accumulation of all powers, legislative, executive and judiciary, in the same hands, whether of one, a few, or many, and whether hereditary, self-appointed, or elected, may justly be pronounced the very definition of Tyranny.”

Today’s liberal thinkers wish to abolish the electoral college, they want to pack the courts failing to understand that America is not a Democracy but rather a Constitutional Republic. Today liberal leaders and big tech companies wish to censor free speech, labeling free speech as disinformation. They use every angle to interpret the Second Amendment, They deprive those with opposing views their due process and they try to control the masses with forced vaccines, business and church closings along with civil prosecution and termination of employment.

Over the past year we have witnessed the mainstream media, Twitter, Facebook, Amazon and others working to suppress Conservative Speech. The media only reports news that meets their agenda, Twitter restricts or cancels Conservative accounts, Facebook has restricted opinion by posting unsolicited opposing opinion and Amazon refuses to sell books that express differing opinions from the Woke Liberal Left. These are all actions that America had never witnessed until recent years.

Comparing Conservatives to Liberals, every four years the Gallup Polling organization during the Independence Day period asks voters about their patriotism. Republicans (84%) Independents (62%) and Democrats (52%) said they were “very proud.” Another interesting factor recorded was that those without college degrees polled notably higher in Patriotism than those holding a degree.

Another interesting Gallup poll from a decade back questioned the amount of power wielded by certain groups. The poll had three answers, too much power, About the right amount of power and not enough power. In the Too Much category, Lobbyist were at the top by 71% followed by Major Corporations 67%, Banks 67%, Federal Government 58%, Unions 43%, State Government 34%, Courts and Judges 34%, Churches 25%, Local government 22% and the Military at 14%.

Another poll from 2021 called the Honesty and Ethics poll rated the percentage of professions from most to least honest and ethical as follows: Nurses 81%, Medical Doctors 67%, Teachers 64%, Military Officers 61%, Police Officers 53%, Judges 38%, Clergy 36%, Local Politicians 22%, Lawyers 19%, Print Reporters 17%, TV Reporters 14%, State Politicians 12%, Congressmen 9%, Car Salesmen 8% and at the bottom, Lobbyist 5%.

Politicians, you have some work to do.

Terry Harper, Past State Republican Executive Committee Chairman for Senate District 21
